Alerts by text.Only the ones you asked for.

Beaam Alerts is a transactional SMS program: it tells you when something in your own stack breaks. It is not a marketing channel, and it never becomes one.

Who sends, who receives, and why

Beaam — operated by Teqnyk Ltd — sends the messages. Beaam is a monitoring tool: you connect the services your product runs on (AWS, Cloudflare, Stripe, Sentry, Supabase and others) and it watches them for you.

Messages go to Beaam account holders on the Solo plan, at a mobile number they entered themselves while signed in to the application. There is no other way onto this list. Beaam does not buy, rent, import, or scrape phone numbers, and it does not message anyone who has not added their own.

The reason for the message is always the same: something you are monitoring changed state, and you asked to be told by text.

How you opt in

Opt-in happens on the web, inside an authenticated account. There is no keyword opt-in, no paper form, and no point-of-sale capture.

  1. Sign in at app.beaam.app.
  2. Go to Settings → Notifications and choose Add a channel.
  3. Select type SMS and enter your own mobile number in E.164 format.
  4. Save the channel. A single confirmation text arrives at that number.

The consent disclosure appears directly beneath the number field, before you save, and reads:

By adding this number you agree to receive Beaam Alerts texts about incidents on the services you monitor. Message frequency varies with incidents; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our SMS terms and Privacy Policy.

What that screen actually looks like, exactly as shown to the person entering their own number — the destination field, and the consent checkbox unchecked, its default state, until they actively tick it themselves:

The Add a channel dialog at app.beaam.app/settings, showing the SMS destination field, an UNCHECKED consent checkbox — its default state — reading: By adding this number you agree to receive Beaam Alerts texts about incidents on the services you monitor. Message frequency varies with incidents; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our SMS terms and Privacy Policy. The submit button reads 'Yes, enable SMS alerts'.

How you stop

Reply STOP to any message. Vonage, our messaging carrier, blocks further messages immediately, and Beaam disables the channel and shows you why — so the account does not sit there claiming an SMS destination that can no longer be reached.

You can also delete or disable the channel in Settings → Notifications at any time, which stops the messages without involving your carrier at all.

Reply HELP for help, or email support@beaam.app.

To start again after a STOP: reply START from that handset, then re-enable the channel in Settings. Both steps are needed — the carrier-level block is not ours to lift.

How often, and what it costs

Message volume is event-driven and low. A quiet month is zero messages; a typical one is a handful. Two limits hold that true rather than merely hoping for it: a per-service cooldown stops one flapping service from texting you repeatedly, and a hard monthly spend cap per account bounds the worst case.

Message and data rates may apply, according to your own mobile plan. Beaam does not charge per message; SMS is included in the Solo subscription.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

What the messages look like

WhenMessage
Once, when you enable the channelBeaam: SMS alerts are now enabled for your account. Msg&data rates may apply. Message frequency varies with incidents. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
When something you monitor breaksBeaam alert: api-prod - error rate 12% over 5% threshold
When you send yourself a testBeaam test: checkout-api - error rate above threshold

These are the actual message bodies the product sends, kept to one SMS segment so an alert is never split or truncated mid-sentence.

What Beaam will not send

No marketing. No promotions, upgrade nudges, offers, newsletters, or product announcements — not now and not later. If Beaam ever wants to tell you about a feature, it will use email, which you can ignore. The text channel is reserved for "something is wrong", because a channel that sometimes sells you things is a channel you learn to mute, and a muted alert channel is worse than none.

No sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number reaches exactly one other company — Vonage, the carrier that delivers the message — and only to deliver it. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
